Fort Portal Central Division Council has passed a resolution to
regulate the bars, discos and churches that are operating during the
night in the division.

Muhumuza Richard, the Mayor of Central Division, said that there are some
bars, discos and churches that operate over night, noting that this
infringes on the rights of other people who would be asleep during the
night.

The division mayor told council sitting yesterday at Former East
Division Headquarters in Kitumba that as security officers in the city,
they have conducted several security meetings in various places where
they agreed that bars, discos and churches should be closed at midnight.

He warned the bar, disco and church owners not to close beyond
midnight, saying that security operators will arrest whoever is found
working beyond time.

On motorcycle theft, Muhumuza asked the boda boda riders to be
vigilant, hence revealing that so far five motorcycles have been
stolen.
