Deputy Attorney General Jackson Kafuuzi nominated for Kyaka South MP seat

Uganda’s Deputy Attorney General, also NRM Flag Bearer Member of Parliament Kyaka South Jackson Kafuuzi nominated

Nomination of candidates for Parliamentary elections, attracted 10 aspirants on the first day in Kyegegwa district including the Deputy Attorney General of Uganda also the area MP for Kyaka South constituency, Hon Minister Jackson Kafuuzi Karugaba.

After fulfilling all the requirements, Minister Kafuuzi accompanied by less than 04 people including his official campaigning agent, was declared fully nominated as candidate for Kyaka South constituency.

The Nomination exercise was presided over by Nicholas Asiimwe, the district Electoral Commission Returning Officer for Kyegegwa. The nomination exercise was held at the main offices of the Electoral Commission located in Kigando cell, Kyegegwa town council.

During a media interaction shortly after his nomination, Minister Kafuuzi lauded the people of Kyaka South who recently entrusted him with their voter in the NRM party primaries that made him a victor as the flag bearer.

Before his departure for official government duties to Gambia, he also called for combined effort among all his voters if the unaccomplished projects including those already in pipeline

Other people also nominated on the first day to challenge Minister Kafuuzi in the forthcoming general elections set for 2026, is Nimpamya Daniel Muhango who was nominated as an independent candidate and Nuwamanya Evans also on the independent ticket while the nomination of Tumwesigye Julius flopped over unclear reasons though he was later nominated on the second day.

Both Muhango and Nuwamanya promised to ensure better services for their electorates.

On the district Woman Member of Parliament seat for Kyegegwa, 03 candidates were nominated including the incumbent Hon Kabahenda Flavia Rwabuhoro who was nominated on the independent ticket, Jack Kyogabirwe Muganda on the NRM ticket and Kunihira Rehema under the National Unity Platform ticket.

In a separate media briefing, the trio vowed to fight for the social welfare of their people.

Meanwhile, in Kyaka North Hon Asaba Nshebimana Paul the incumbent area MP, was nominated on the independent ticket pledging his voters to continue fostering more development in the area, as 03 independent members were also nominated for Kyaka Central constituency to unseat Hon Tom Bright who is the NRM flag bearer MP.

Among those nominated are the district talker Joel Magoba, Biryahariwe Eryeza and Balintuma Shaban each one with an agenda of transforming the area.

According to the Electoral Commission guidelines, the official day for the commencement of campaigns is on 10th of November this year.
