Residents of Kazinga town council in Kyegegwa district woke up in shock on Wednesday, following discovery of the body of a primary Four learner hanging in a slaughter slab, suspected to have died by suicide.

The deceased has been identified as Alicwamu Karoli Lwanga 13, a pupil at Brain Star Nursery and Primary school in Butunduzi town council Kyenjojo district.

Alice Kabahinda, his mother, and resident of Rwibaale cell in Butunduzi town council Kyenjojo district, said her son fled home on Friday March 13, 2026, which prompted a serious search by relatives and community members.

Ms Kabahinda noted that the search continued until on Monday March 16, when she was informed that Alicwamu had appeared at his Uncle’s home, only identified as John, in Kijanamiganda -Kazinga town council Kyegegwa district.

However, a bizarre situation surrounded area residents in wee hours of Wednesday March 18, 2026, when they discovered the body of Alicwamu Karoli Lwanga, hanging in the abattoir in Kazinga Central market.

Ms Kabahinda suspects that suicide by her son could have been as a result of her earlier proposal of taking his young sister to stay with the Uncle, a proposal that was not braced by Alicwamu who wished to be the one grabbing the opportunity.
