Gulu regional referral Hospital support staff on Wednesday morning laid down their tools after waiting in vain for their payments. Qfm understands through one of them who has requested for anonymity that the support staff have gone for three months without smiling to the bank
According to a female employee who requested for anonymity, the staff have raised the matter to the hospital administrator but never received any positive response.
Another male worker who requested his name not to be mentioned due to the sensitivity of the matter says they are facing various challenges among which is a serious water crisis more especially during this dry season and that there is only one vehicle that serves the hospital.
He says that some of his colleagues are on the brink of being evicted by Landlords over unpaid rent arears.

acknowledged the complaint raised by cleaners and blamed the predicament on the hospital admistrator whom he accused of delaying transfer of monies to his companies which he needs to clear these workers.
He however urged the workers to be patient and promised to clear their wages by Friday.
Agnes Adong , a patient attendant at Gulu regional hospital said they cannot access the toilet because it is very dirty and appealed to the hospital administrator to address the matter appropriately so that others do not get exposed to other infection from the hospital.
When contacted, Dr. Florence Oyella the assistant Administrator Gulu regional referral hospital says she is not aware of any ongoing strike but was quick to add that she will follow up the issue.
