In the Yite Twolo talk show on 94.3qfm earlier today, key figures shed light on the rampant corruption plaguing the District Service Commission. Prime Minister Nabbanja, alongside former LC5 chairperson of Oyam, Mr. Nelson, and Father Alfred Okello, unveiled shocking revelations about bribery and nepotism within the system.

During the discussion, Prime Minister Nabbanja recounted her interactions with locals who expressed frustration over the unfair distribution of job opportunities. Despite investing heavily in education for their children, community members find themselves sidelined in favour of individuals from other districts who are willing to pay bribes.

Echoing these sentiments, Mr. Nelson shared his firsthand experience, highlighting how qualified candidates are often overlooked in favour of those with connections or financial means. Father Alfred Okello added to the narrative, recounting the struggles faced by his sister, a primary school teacher, who was twice denied employment due to demands for bribes.

The revelations expose a troubling pattern of corruption within the District Service Commission, where meritocracy takes a backseat to personal gain. Robinah Nabbanja, Prime Minister of Uganda, emphasized the need for systemic reform to root out corruption and ensure equal opportunities for all citizens.

As the nation grapples with this pressing issue, the voices of Prime Minister Nabbanja, Mr. Nelson, and Father Alfred Okello serve as a clarion call for transparency and accountability within Uganda’s public institutions.

Stay tuned for further developments on this story as efforts to combat corruption continue to unfold.
