The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Dokolo District, Granfil Oryondo Omonda, has warned school authorities against examination malpractices such as cheating, bribery, and the unnecessary purchasing of examination papers, stating that these acts could jeopardise the district’s overall performance.

Oryondo Omonda issued the warning to school authorities, particularly in primary schools, while speaking to our reporter from his office.

He appealed to parents to use the remaining two weeks to send their children back to school, especially those in candidate classes, to improve their performance. He also urged school authorities and stakeholders to provide a quiet and conducive environment for candidates’ preparation.

Meanwhile, Lameck Tonny Ereco, the Acting District Inspector of Schools in Dokolo, called on all headteachers to submit lists of candidates who have not returned to school for follow-up. He warned that any parents found keeping candidates at home for domestic work could face arrest.

Catharine Docus Ayuru, Headteacher of Angwibeange Primary School, said they registered 114 candidates for the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), but only 95 have so far returned to school. She added that they are searching for 15 missing candidates, noting that time is running out.

According to the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), Primary Seven candidates will sit the Primary Leaving Examinations on 3 and 4 November 2025 in all primary schools across the country.
