Roaring home welcome: NRM leaders and candidates rally support for Acilo in Tel-oloko
Teloloko Village, Ajul Parish — A massive crowd gathered at the village centre on Friday evening to welcome Jane Frances Acilo, the Oyam District Woman Member of Parliament (WMP) candidate, as she continued her campaign trail in her home area.
The atmosphere was electric, with locals eager to meet their own daughter, greeting Acilo with chants, songs, and visible enthusiasm. Her visit attracted some of the most influential National Resistance Movement (NRM) leaders from across Oyam District, highlighting the significance of the event within the party’s wider campaign efforts.
Key figures present included Tom Acuma, popularly known as Acuma Aleka and the NRM Chairperson for Aleka Sub County; all Sub County NRM Chairpersons in the district; Bismarck Olang, the NRM Party Administrator for Oyam District; Douglas Munu, the District NRM Secretary General; and Bosco Onyik Ogwal, the District NRM Chairperson.
Also in attendance was Oyam North MP candidate Willy Omodo Omodo, who delivered apologies on behalf of Benson Dilla Oyuku and Patrick Ogwang Obura, both of whom were engaged in parallel campaign activities in Oyam South.
Speakers throughout the event urged residents to rally behind the full slate of NRM candidates in the upcoming elections. They expressed confidence in Acilo’s ability to represent Oyam District effectively while also encouraging support for Willy Omodo Omodo (Oyam North), Patrick Ogwang Obura (Oyam South), and Benson Dilla Oyuku (LC5 Chairperson).
Acilo, energised by the large turnout, thanked the community for their unwavering support and promised to prioritise inclusive development and responsive leadership if elected.
Her campaign trail continues tomorrow, Saturday, with a scheduled visit to Loro Sub County as she intensifies district-wide mobilisation.
