Rwandan national dies in Kabale car accident

Kabale police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a Rwandan national in a fatal car crash at Kyanamira along the Mbarara-Kabale highway.

The deceased, identified only as Muhire, a 23-year-old Rwandan, was driving a Sino truck with registration number RAF186I/RL4013.

According to Kigezi Region Police spokesperson Elly Maate, Muhire lost control of the vehicle upon reaching Kyanamira Trading Centre, causing it to overturn and resulting in his death at the scene.

The tragic accident occurred on 29th March 2025, and preliminary investigations suggest that brake failure was the cause. Muhire’s body has been taken to Kabale Referral Hospital for a postmortem examination.

Maate urged drivers to prioritise regular vehicle maintenance and adhere to safety precautions to prevent similar fatal accidents.
