Security team confirmed recovery of 49 million shillings PDM money in Kole district

Kole District security committee has recovered 49 million shillings out of 51 million shillings that was allegedly embezzled by SACCO leaders under the government’s Parish Development Model program in Okwor Village, Ayer Sub-County.

The Kole Resident District Commissioner, Josephine Omara Olili, confirmed the recovery in an exclusive interview with our reporter.

Omara Olili explained that after the arrest of the SACCO leaders; Omodi Denis and Olila Martin, security recovered 21 million shillings in cash. Further interrogation led to the recovery of another 27 million shillings from a mobile money account belonging to Olila Martin, leaving a balance of 2 million shillings yet to be accounted for.

She added that the suspects will appear in court and will be remanded as investigations continue.

Omara Olili also assured the community that the recovered funds will be disbursed to the rightful beneficiaries, noting that her office is working closely with district officials and security agencies to ensure the money reaches the targeted households.

The incident occurred on June 2nd, 2025, when the suspects, together with others still at large, allegedly accessed the PDM account at a local financial institution in Ayer Sub-County and withdrew a total of 51 million shillings.
