Northern Uganda trade expo 2025 opens in Lira city with thousands attending

The Northern Uganda Trade Expo and Exhibition, one of the region’s leading business development events, officially opened yesterday at the Lira Mayor’s Garden in Lira City. Organised by Swift Initiative, the annual expo is expected to attract more than 5,000 visitors and hundreds of exhibitors from across Uganda and beyond.

The 2025 edition builds on the success of previous expos and features participants from various regions, including Acholi, Karamoja, West Nile, and Buganda, as well as exhibitors from several East African countries. The fair welcomes a diverse range of sectors, including manufacturing, electrical, chemicals, petroleum products, plastics and rubber, packaging, leather, tourism, food and beverages, education, and the automotive industry.

Mwanji Jonathan, representing Unik World Electronics Kampala, noted that their company is showcasing a range of affordable, durable, and easy-to-maintain electronic appliances.

Olivia Mugabweisgye from Kampala said she is showcasing African-made products, including craftwear, dresses, and sandals for both children and adults. She encouraged the people of Lango to support the expo and promote local entrepreneurship.

Shaida Bukenya, a nurse and herbalist from Muganga Mini Pharmacy Kampala, explained that they are offering a wide range of services, including professional guidance on medication use and health management. She added that they have stocked herbal products for conditions such as prostate complications, urinary tract infections, sickle cell, blood clots, and stroke, among others.

The expo provides a vital platform for businesses to showcase their products, engage directly with customers, and explore new market opportunities.

The Northern Uganda Trade Expo and Exhibition 2025 will run from Friday, 5 December to Saturday, 14 December 2025.

With exhibitors from multiple sectors and regions, the Northern Uganda Trade Expo continues to position Lira City as a growing hub for commerce and innovation. The event offers businesses valuable exposure while giving visitors access to a wide range of products, services, and investment opportunities.
