In a bid to reduce road carnage and observed traffic guidelines, Mobile enrollment team in partnership with Lira-Amolatar taxi driver’s association-Uhuru Bar stage in Lira City set to conduct mobile enrollment of driving license programme in North Kioga region.
The development was revealed by the coordinator for Defensive Driving and Road Safety Awareness in charge Lango Sub-region, Mr. Okao Kizito, during an interview with our reporter in his office.
Okao who doubles as the chairperson of Lira-Amolatar taxi driver’s association-Uhuru Bar stage confirmed that the exercise scheduled for April, 17th 2026 will features services such as: processing of new driving licence, renewal of expired or lapsed licence, recovery of lost license and extension of driving classes among others.
He said the exercise aimed at reducing transport cost and other associated charges and expenses from conmen, urging motorist across Lango sub region utilized the opportunity to get services.
In a related development Okao, acknowledge that they have received several complaints and concerns from the passenger of being over charge especially along Lira-Dokolo-Amolatar to Namasale route to and fro.

In a moved aimed to addressed the concerns, Okao revealed that they have introduced a new strategy by using a sticker branded with the Association details to different their passenger services viechel (PVS) from conmen.
He therefore warned passengers not to board a viechel without the branded sticker, and advised them to demand for receipts for easy accessibility in case of missing luggages or properties.
With the slogan “Your driving license is your shield, the Association leaders are optimistic that the exercise will greatly impacts motorist across Lango sub region.
