Lira City West Division Mayor, Rose Amolo Ongom, has urged technical staff to step up the monitoring of projects under the Parish Development Model (PDM) to ensure effective use of government funds.

Speaking during the approval of the 2025/2026 fiscal year budget, Mayor Amolo highlighted that out of 42,043 individuals profiled under the PDM, a significant number have already been successfully enrolled in the program.

She revealed that over 13 billion shillings was allocated to the division, with more than 10 billion shillings disbursed to10,581 beneficiaries, representing 42% of those profiled.

Amolo expressed optimism, noting that some beneficiary groups have started refunding the money—a positive sign of accountability and sustainability in the program.
