Police in Adok Sub-county, Dokolo District have arrested Acen Betty, a 38-year-old resident of Akaidebe Village, Bardyang Parish, in connection with the alleged murder of her husband, Oleke Morish, aged 41.

Speaking to our reporter, Mr. Otim Polycarp, the LC1 Chairperson of the area, confirmed that he received a phone call at 11:48 p.m. from neighbours of the deceased, informing him about the incident. Upon arriving at the scene, he found the lifeless body lying on the bed.

Otim revealed that the couple had long-standing misunderstandings, and several community meetings had been held to resolve their conflicts but to no avail. He attributed the death to domestic violence resulting from excessive drinking and urged the public to avoid such behaviour.

When contacted for a comment, SP Patience Baganzi, the Dokolo District Police Commander (DPC), confirmed the arrest and said a team of homicide officers visited the scene to gather evidence.

By press time, the suspect was still being detained at Adok Police Outpost.
