Kasese district passed shs 91B budget for F/Y 2023-24

Kasese district has passed a budget estimate of about ninety one Billion shillings for 2023-2024 financial year with Education taking the lions share, Kasese Guide Radio has learnt.

Addressing the Media shortly after council that was presided over by the Kasese district Deputy Speaker, Hon. Jolly Kateeba at Kasese Multipurpose hall yesterday, Mr. Erias Byamungu, the Chief administrative officer said the budget had increased by four billion shillings compared to last year basically to meet more pressing issues in the district.

Mr. Byamungu who announced that more monies under Parish Development Model would be disbursed to individual bank accounts next week, said education followed by health were key priorities come next financial year. Mr. Byamungu speaking………

The Kasese district Boss Mr. Eriphaz Muhindi said after several interventions against corrupt civil servants, the district has been able to roof part of the district administration block that will be occupied soon by his executive.

He also announced that one billion shillings that was pledged by the President over the same project, would be disbursed soon this calendar year.

The Kasese district woman councilor Representing Kinyamaseke town council and Nyakatonzi sub county, Hon. Betty Karoko said whereas they were committed to serving the local population equally, the resource envelope was still small. Hon. Karoko speaking……

Hon. Geoffrey Madebeya, the Kasese district councilor representing Kisinga town council who doubles as the Leader of opposition in the Kasese district okeyed the budget he said was balanced to meet the demands of their electorates. Hon. Madebeya speaking……

He however called for transparency among heads of political departments and the technical wing if service delivery was to be realized.
