Museveni says ADF remnants to pay for their action

President Yoweri Museveni has said the suspected operators of the Allied Democratic Force Rebels who attacked a school and killed over forty people in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council, Kasese district will regret their action.

An armed gang suspected to be ruminants of the ADF overran Peter Hunt currently known to be Mpondwe community secondary school, killed forty two learners, about three neighbouring villagers and abducted and about seven others.

In a condolence message delivered by Hon. Chrysostom John Muyingo, the Sate Minister for higher education, President Museveni was disappointed that the so called fighters of the ADF were targeting soft targets of the innocent learners and some members of the community.

According to Hon. Muyingo, President Museveni who said government would condole each of the affected families with five Million shillings, called for neighborhood watch and vigilance among the local community members against suspected rebels he insisted will be arrested and prosecuted. Mrs. Geneva Ithungu, neighbor to the affected school said they had first mistaken the rebels for common thieves until they began thanking God in Arabic and Kiswahili languages for what they call a successful revenge they said was dedicated to President Museveni who had gone to interrupt their peace in the DRC. Mr. Stephen Muhindo, a survivor said whereas they had had their colleagues calling for help as the suspects cut some learners in the neighboring dormitory before the selfish operators turned to their hall they declined to open.

Stephen said on realizing danger after a number of brutal killings, he jumped and hid under the dead bodies until the suspected rebels left the scene of crime. Mr. Stephen speaking…….

Another student survivor, Mr. Moses Kato who said he jumped over a double deck before sneaking, revealed that Amos, a learner was killed on failing to tell the rebels if he was a Muslim. Mr. Kato speaking…

Meanwhile, The ADF rebels responsible for the attack on Mpondwe Community secondary school in Mpondwe- Lhubiriha town council Kasese district, stayed within the area for two nights while planning the attack.

This is according to new intelligence reports obtained by the army and revealed by Maj Gen Dick Olum, the UPDF commander of mountain division and operation Shujaa in DR- Congo.

Addressing locals on top of his car at the scene this afternoon, Maj Gen Olum said that the rebels had stayed within the area and planned to burn army vehicles but feared and instead changed plans to attack the school.

The Rwenzururu King, His Majesty Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma, has strongly condemned yesterday’s  attack by suspected terrorists of the remnant Allied Democratic Forces -ADF on Mpondwe Community  Secondary School in Mpondwe Lhubiriha Town Council and the surrounding community.

He conveyed sympathy and condolences to the parents and all Banya Rwenzururu upon senseless killings of their children by evil bandits, the Omusinga said in a press statement issued by the kingdom Spokesperson, John B. Thawithe this evening.

He encouraged Banya Rwenzururu not to be intimidated by enemies who want to scare people and frustrate the Government’s efforts of bringing him back home.
