UPDF kills two ADF, suspected to have killed tourists in Kasese

Two terrorists of the Allied Democratic Forces suspected to have killed Tourists and torched their vehicle in Queen Elizabeth National Park, have been shot dead, security sources have revealed.

Security sources who indicated that the two bodies are part of the six and then one of their wanted commanders captured during the UPDF operation on Lake Edward in Kasese district, are said to be part of a small group of ADF remnants said to have killed the British Citizen, David Barlow, his South African Emmaretia Geyer and their Ugandan driver, Mr. Eric Elyai about two weeks ago.

The same sources indicate that UPDF Marine, officers of the Special Forces Command and Mountain Brigade built on an intelligence strategic deployment along Kayanja and Katwe landing sites last evening before the enemy got into the security trap.

Addressing the local residents in Katwe-Kabatooro town council this morning, Maj. Gen. Dick Olim, the Mountains Division and Operation Shujja Commander confirmed that Mr. Njovu who commanded the killings of students in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council, the burning and killings on a boxboard truck in Katholhu, later tourists and UPDF in Kasindi, had been arrested and more than six of his operators put out of action. Some media sources have quoted Col. Deo Akiiki as saying eleven of the ADF terrorists whom they have been tracking since they attacked tourists had finally got on their boat and a number of them killed last evening in a very well intelligence-led operation by security. more

Mr. Johnbosco Kananura Omulodi, the local council three chairperson for Katwe Kabatooro town council in Kasese district said the successful military operation last night was one of the many with an aim to safeguard tourists, the local community and their property as well.

Some local residents in Katwe-Kabatoro town council, including Ms. Immaculate Kahindo who appreciated President Museveni for walking his word, were excited by what they called the successful military offensive they say had guided safety against the ADF in their area.

Yet to be verified Intelligence reports indicated to our reporter that the said ADF operators were targeting Kasese Municipality before meeting their death on the lake.

By press time two dead bodies were being buried by prisoners in the cemetery for Katwe Kabatoro town council.
