Three mothers encamped at the Resident District Commissioner’s office in Kasese Town have delivered three healthy babies, Kasese Guide Radio can reliably report.
Ms. Grace Biira, the camp chairperson, confirmed the news and said;
that out of thirty-five expectant mothers in the camp, only three have had safe deliveries despite the challenging conditions.
She commended Kithulha Care Initiative for providing Mama Kits to the expectant mothers in the camp.
Ms. Grace appealed to the public to offer humanitarian support to the people currently living in the IDP camp.
She reaffirmed the camp’s commitment to remain in the IDP camp until all disputed pieces of land in Kasese District are officially reopened and boundaries clearly marked.
Ms. Grace also issued a stern warning to individuals allegedly demanding money from camp residents under the pretense of helping them acquire land.
