The Rwenzururu Kingdom administration has highlighted education and agriculture among eight key priority areas in its newly proposed five-year Strategic Development Plan.
The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) has donated 120 tablets to Rwenzururu Kingdom to equip its officials with the necessary devices for accurate data collection from the Kingdom’s subjects, to facilitate better planning.
Mr. Geoffrey Semwongere, a UBOS official, told a stakeholders meeting held at Rwenzori International Hotel in Kasese town yesterday that Uganda Bureau of Statistics has chosen to collaborate closely with cultural institutions to gather reliable data for thorough analysis.
Rt. Hon. Benson Kule Baritazale, the Rwenzururu Kingdom Prime Minister, revealed that UBOS has pledged to establish and equip a statistics unit to further support the Kingdom’s data collection centre.
He also announced that the initiative inspired by King Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma’s declaration in the 1980s about “using a pen to liberate society” after descending from the mountains will be officially launched in August. Hon. Baritazale speaking…
