Leaders of Sugarcane Farmers in Busoga have unanimously opposed the directive from Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives .

This was agreed upon in a delegates conference of sugarcane Growers leaders from Busoga Sub-region at Jinja Show Ground where they said that the minister Francis Mwebesa acted upon false evidence or investigation and threatened to sanction any farmer who is in support of that ministerial directive.

The coordinator for Sugarcane Growers Association in Busoga Patrick Mudungu Samona revealed they are going to petition the prime Minister Rt Hon. Robina Nabanjja such that the directive is not implemented.
