The increasing rate of suicide in Namayingo District is worrying religious and political leaders, who are calling for collective efforts to address the issue.

Speaking to mourners at the send-off ceremony of Efumbi Erineyo, 62, at Ebale Village, Magori Ward, Banda Town Council in Namayingo District, Pastor Zakayo Opio, the lead pastor of Lugala End Time Church, said that suicide is illegal and not accepted by God. He added that such individuals should not be given Christian burials as a way of discouraging the act.
