Statement on attempted murder in Kamuli

The Police in Kamuli have arrested a 40 year old business woman for allegedly attempting to murder her husband by cutting attempting to cut off his genitals.

The victim has been identified as Masanka Richard 60, resident of Busoigo cell, Kasoigo ward, Northern Division in Kamuli Municipality.

The suspect has been identified as Rehema.

Initial findings indicate that on the 06/06/2025 the duo were at home, and at around 11:00 pm, Masanka went to bed leaving his wife outside.

While in bed, his wife allegedly attacked him, attempted to strangle him before removing his left testicle.

The victim was rushed to Kwagala Medical Centre-Buwengempya and later referred to Kamuli General Hospital.

We condemn the attack and similar acts of violence. We remain committed to ensuring that we deal with such acts expeditiously.

We urge couples facing conflict to seek counseling or legal redress and avoid acts of violence that destroy lives and families.

Further inquiries are ongoing to establish the motive behind the attack.
