A Ugandan financial institution with Catholic roots has donated health materials worth 10 million shillings, including wheelchairs, reception chairs, and dustbins.
While receiving the items, Centenary Bank’s Regional Manager, Mrs Beatrice Lugarambi, stated that the donation was part of the bank’s efforts to give back to the community and promote healthy living. She explained that the bank sets aside 2 percent of its annual earnings in appreciation of its loyal customers who continue to transact with them year after year.
It is worth noting that Kamuli Mission Hospital, the recipient of the donation, is also a Catholic-run institution, much like Centenary Bank.
Mrs Lugarambi added that this is just the beginning, and the bank hopes to continue giving even more to its customers and communities in future.
Speaking to us, the hospital administrator, Mr Augustine Maiso, appealed for further support, noting that the hospital is still in need of more seating. He commended Centenary Bank for its generous contribution and its commitment to giving back to the community.
The Kamuli Municipal Deputy Mayor, Mr Kagabo Denis, welcomed the initiative and appealed to Centenary Bank to extend similar support to other hospitals around Kamuli, as many of them are still in need.
