One dead, three injured at construction site collapse in Mbale city

One person has been confirmed dead, while three others have sustained injuries following a construction site accident along Pallisa Road in Mbale City.

According to ASP Rogers Taitika, the Elgon Region Police spokesperson, the incident occurred on Wednesday evening as site construction workers were excavating soil from the pit.

He said that the pit caved in, leading to the death of one of the workers, identified as Aron Wayoboya, while three others were rushed to nearby health facilities for medical attention.

ASP Taitika noted that investigations into the cause of the incident are currently underway.
