Eastern Youth Parliament elects new Speaker

Vicky Namugobe has been elected as the new speaker of the Eastern Region Youth Parliament.
She is set to lead the youth parliament for one term and has vowed to make the voices of the youth heard.

As the leader of the youth parliament, Vicky says she is committed to ensuring that the concerns and challenges faced by the youth are addressed.

She notes that she is passionate about creating a platform where the youth can express themselves freely and have their voices heard.

With her leadership, the youth parliament is expected to tackle pressing issues such as unemployment, education, and healthcare.

“As I take on my new role, I am aware of the challenges that lie ahead. However, I am confident that with the support of my fellow youth leaders and the community, we can make a positive impact.” said Vicky, adding that her determination and passion for leadership are inspiring, and the youth of the Eastern region are eager to see the changes she will bring.

The youth parliament is a vital platform for the youth to express themselves and address the challenges they face. Vicky’s leadership is a step in the right direction, and the youth are excited to see the positive changes that will come from her leadership.

Haruna Musa, the communications and innovation officer for the Uganda Youth and Adolescent Health Forum, praised the youth parliament as one of the key platforms that spearhead issues of the youth and the challenges they face. He thanked the different youth for advocating for better conditions for the youth and using the youth parliament sitting to raise their voices.

He emphasised the importance of the youth parliament in creating a better future for the youth. The event took place at Mt. Elgon hotel in Mbale, yesterday where the youth gathered to discuss their concerns and challenges.
