Windy rains destroy crops & structures in Kasese

Banana plantation for Ms Kabugho Petronila in Kyalhumba town council-Kasese district has been taken away by the heavy rains.

Crops, vegetation and structures worth yet to be computed amount of money are reported to have been destroyed yesterday by heavy winds and rains in Milhando Village in Kyalhumba subcounty in Kasese district, according to Mr. Rauliano Bwambale Rujumba, a local leader in the area.

Staff house for health workers at Kyalhumba PHC in Kasese district has been hit by the tree during heavy windy rains.

According to Mr. Costantino Bngahi Mubatsi, a local council one chairperson for Kabughabugha cell in Kyalhumba town council in Kasese district, a similar incident happened in his area yesterday.

In an earlier warning yesterday, Mr. Erifaz Muhindi, the Kasese district local council five chairperson, asked people living in disaster prone areas to relocate to the recently identified evacuation centres for their safety.
