Heavy winds and rain destroy crops and structures in Kasese

Crops, vegetation, and structures, with losses yet to be quantified, were reported destroyed yesterday by heavy winds and rain in Milhando Village, Kyalhumba Sub county, Kasese District, according to Mr Rauliano Bwambale Rujumba, a local leader in the area.

The staff house for health workers at Kyalhumba PHC in Kasese District was damaged by a tree during heavy winds and rain.

According to Mr Costantino Bngahi Mubatsi, the Local Council One Chairperson for Kabughabugha Cell in Kyalhumba Town Council, Kasese District, a similar incident occurred in his area yesterday.

Mr Bangahi and Mr Rujumba speak about the destruction of properties and crops, which has left them with significant losses.

In an earlier warning yesterday, Mr Erifaz Muhindi, the Kasese District Local Council Five Chairperson, urged residents living in disaster-prone areas to relocate to the newly identified evacuation centres for their safety.
