Kayamja Elite Youth Forum conducts youth empowerment workshop
Kayamja Elite Youth Forum has conducted a youth empowerment workshop at Kayanja Primary School in Nyakiyumbu Sub-county, Kasese District, bringing together 120 young people in a campaign aimed at turning them into active ambassadors against drug abuse, teenage marriages, and early pregnancies.
Speaking shortly after the workshop, the forum’s chairperson, Mr Sulait Masereka, appealed to well-wishers, civil society organisations, religious leaders, and political actors to renew and strengthen support for interventions addressing moral and social challenges affecting young people.
Mr Ronald, the Executive Director of Kasese Youth Link, who donated 10 chickens for a poultry project, has cautioned parents and guardians against what he described as turning their homes into “incubators for street children”, urging stronger family responsibility in raising disciplined and responsible young people.
Meanwhile, Ronet Nyakato and Thembo Nelson, both local residents and workshop attendees, commended the organisers for initiating the youth dialogue.
In a separate interview, Mr Jackson Kule, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ndongo Medicare Services and a Clinical Instructor at Bwera School of Health Sciences, pledged to work closely with forum members to continuously sensitise young people on healthy living practices.
