Christians urged to embrace productive work to boost household incomes

Dr Julius Monday Rude, the Member of Parliament for Bukonzo County East, has urged Christians to embrace productive work as a means of improving household incomes and sustaining support for both their families and the Church.

Speaking shortly after the Priestly Thanksgiving Mass for Rev. Fr Rusiano Mbusa Kyengereza at Kibisire Village in Kitabu Sub-county, Kasese District yesterday, Dr Rude said meaningful engagement in income-generating activities was essential for believers to effectively contribute to God’s work and meet their family responsibilities.

He pledged to donate 40,000 coffee seedlings in August to boost household coffee production and improve livelihoods.

Earlier, the Kasese Municipality Member of Parliament, Hon. Ferigo Kambale, described himself as “a grandfather of dreams”, revealing that construction has already begun on a building that will house the first CT scanner in Kasese District. He said the project is aimed at improving access to specialised diagnostic healthcare services for local residents.

Hon. Ferigo Kambale encouraging communities to embrace farming as a source of livelihood.

The legislator also cautioned young people against idleness and spending time in trading centres, urging them instead to work hard to improve their living conditions.
