A sense of relief swept through disaster-affected communities in Busongora County North after Caritas Kasese provided non-food relief items to 149 households impacted by recent calamities.

Beneficiaries, including Wilson Sebata Baluku, Jones Kabanza, Jones Biira, and Agnes Biira, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Caritas Kasese for its timely support, describing the donation as a demonstration of compassion, solidarity, and concern for the well-being of affected communities. While handing over iron sheets, blankets, jerrycans, soap, tarpaulins, and plastic basins to beneficiaries at Maliba Sub-county headquarters in Kasese District yesterday, the Caritas Kasese Relief Focal Person, Mr. Joachim Baluku, acknowledged that although the relief support may not fully address all the challenges faced by the disaster victims, it would provide much-needed assistance as they rebuild their lives.

Rev. Fr. Loti Maate, the Curate of Ibanda Parish, who represented the Bishop of Kasese Diocese at the event, strongly cautioned the beneficiaries against selling the relief items, emphasizing that the assistance was intended to support efforts to rebuild their living conditions.

The relief distribution exercise with items funded by Caritas-Belgium, covered four lower administrative units of Kabatunda Kirabaho town council, Kyabarungira, Maliba and Buhuhira Sub-counties.
