Rwenzori School of Nursing and Midwifery in Kasese Municipality has apologised to the neighbouring community over what has been perceived as poor waste disposal, which has negatively affected local residents.
The development follows concerns raised by Mr Madaraka Kaiso and Ms Esther Mbambu, among other local residents, who alleged that the institution had been disposing of waste in a manner that polluted the environment.
Speaking to our reporter at his office, the School Principal, Mr David Ngunule, said the school management is consulting relevant stakeholders to ensure the problem is resolved before students return from the ongoing holidays.
Mr Ngunule said the school remains committed to working closely with local leaders and the surrounding community to foster cordial relations and promote mutual cooperation for the benefit of both the institution and its neighbours.
