Newly ordained priest urged to remain obedient, humble and steadfast in ministry

The Parish Priest of Kasanga Parish, Rev. Fr Leonary Sumbuko Sibitha, has urged the newly ordained priest, Rev. Fr Robert Mathande, to remain obedient, humble and steadfast in his priestly vocation in order to faithfully fulfil God’s mission with minimal challenges.

Delivering the homily during Rev. Fr Mathande’s thanksgiving Holy Mass at Bunyiswa I Village in Bwera Sub-county, Kasese District yesterday, Rev. Fr Sumbuko called on the young priest to dedicate his life entirely to the service of God and the salvation of souls.

He also appealed to the lay faithful, particularly Fr Mathande’s family, to continue praying for him, describing prayer as a vital source of spiritual strength that will sustain him throughout his priestly ministry.

Speaking shortly after the thanksgiving Holy Mass, Rev. Fr Robert Mathande thanked Almighty God for the gift of the priesthood, revealing that his vocation was greatly inspired by Msgr Landus Bwambale, the Vicar General of the Diocese of Kasese. He said the exemplary conduct of Msgr Bwambale and other priests during the thanksgiving Mass of Rev. Fr Richard Saudi Businge deeply touched him and ignited his desire to dedicate his life to serving God as a Catholic priest.
