Five Councilors in Bushenyi have petitioned the High Court seeking a judicial review of the conduct of the District Council.

The Councilors, including Douglas Mucunguzi and David Kakama, petitioned against the District Chairperson, Mr. Prosper Twebaze, the District Speaker, Hon. Silagi Banyanga alias Fish, and the entire District Local Government.

The petitioners state that the Bushenyi District Executive Committee was not properly constituted because the procedure for nominating the persons, as adopted by the respondents, was marred with procedural irregularities and illegalities. They say that the nomination and appointment of the members to the Bushenyi District Service Commission was null and void, since there wasn’t a validly constituted District Executive Committee to approve the nomination of members of the said District Service Commission.
