A 95-year-old woman is admitted at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Kasese Municipality as result of domestic violence.

A 95-year-old woman is recovering from injuries at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Kasese Municipality after she was allegedly assaulted by her grandson in a dispute linked to family and land matters.

The victim, Ms. Jane Rose Muhindo, a resident of Buhaghura II Village in Rukoki Sub-county, Kasese District, reportedly sustained wounds after being attacked by her grandchild, Mr. Moris Muhindo.

The suspect is alleged to have accused the elderly woman of influencing the separation between him and his wife, as well as obstructing his plans to utilize a piece of family land, according to the village secretary, Mr. Ronald Baluku who confirmed the attack, saying local leaders had taken keen interest in the matter and were working to ensure that the suspect is held accountable.

Mr Ronald further described Mr. Muhindo, the suspect as an alleged drug user and habitual drunkard.
