police has launched an investigation into the shooting of a man who tempted to enter residence of a military officer

Investigations of an injured man who entered the military residence unlawfully are on going.

Police in the Rwenzori East Region have launched investigations into the shooting and injury of a man who allegedly attempted to unlawfully enter the residence of a senior military officer in Kasese District.

The victim, identified as Mr. Zakaria Kule, is reported to have attempted to force his way into the home of Col. Jet at around midnight yesterday in Kabuyiri I Village, Mpondwe Town Council, under circumstances that are still under investigation.

According to the Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, preliminary findings indicate that the on-duty security guard, Private Allan Wandera, opened fire after the alleged unauthorized entry attempt, injuring Mr. Kule in the leg.

Police have appealed to members of the public with any information that could assist the investigation to come forward and cooperate with investigators as inquiries into the incident continue.
