Police launches investigation into death of the LC1 chairperson in Nyakeya Ward

Police in Kasese District have launched investigations into the sudden death of Pauline Masereka, 55, the incumbent LC I chairperson of Bwinamiro Cell in Nyakeya Ward, Kyarumba Sub-county.

According to preliminary reports, Mr. Masereka left home to conduct door-to-door campaign activities but returned later that day, appearing distressed and unwell.

His condition reportedly worsened overnight, prompting family members to rush him to a nearby health facility, where he was pronounced dead.

Suspecting that his death may not have been from natural causes, relatives reported the matter to police, according to Rwenzori East Regional Police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate who called for calm as the matter is being investigated.
