TALEB Agency Initiative continues to promote environmental conservation, wildlife protection and peaceful coexistence between people and nature in communities surrounding Queen Elizabeth National Park in Kasese District, Uganda.

Through community outreach and environmental education, the organisation reports that more than 2,000 people have gained knowledge about living harmoniously with nature, protecting wildlife and promoting environmental sustainability.

In partnership with the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), EGRISA and TALEB Agency Initiative implemented a fruit tree-planting and environmental education project at Kisinga Primary School, Kasenyi Primary School and Katunguru Primary School. The project equipped more than 1,200 learners with practical knowledge and skills in tree planting, tree management, wildlife conservation and environmental protection.

As part of the initiative, 300 fruit tree seedlings were planted to improve food security in schools, enhance nutrition and promote greener, healthier learning environments. The initiative also encourages learners to protect natural resources and conserve the environment for future generations.

Empowering young conservation ambassadors

TALEB Agency Initiative has empowered more than 100 young people as aquatic and wildlife conservation ambassadors. These young people are encouraged to share conservation messages with their peers, schoolchildren and other community members, strengthening environmental awareness and promoting responsible practices that protect wildlife and biodiversity.

Through practical training, learners are encouraged to appreciate the importance of healthy habitats, community participation in conservation and the protection of endangered species.

Contributing to sustainable development

The initiative supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 4 (Quality Education) and 13 (Climate Action). By combining environmental education with practical tree planting, the project promotes healthier school environments, environmental awareness and climate action.

Commitment to community-led conservation

The founder and director, Mr Taliwabo Ezekiel Bwambale, commended community members, stakeholders, school authorities and UWA for their continued collaboration in environmental protection and wildlife conservation.

He emphasised the importance of working together to ensure peaceful coexistence between people and nature while safeguarding biodiversity and ecosystems for future generations.

TALEB Agency Initiative remains committed to empowering communities, nurturing young conservation leaders, promoting practical environmental action and protecting endangered species around Queen Elizabeth National Park.
