Kitswamba Town Council LC III Chairperson, Mr. Godson Mumbere, has urged parents, guardians, and teachers to actively encourage children to participate in sports, describing it as not only essential for maintaining good health but also a vital platform for identifying and nurturing talent for future opportunities.
Speaking during the handover of sports equipment to Kitswamba Muslim Primary School yesterday, Mr. Godson said the time had come for sports to be given the same level of attention as academics; emphasising that balancing education with co-curricular activities is key to nurturing well-rounded learners and preparing them for success in all aspects of life.
For Sudaisi Muhindo, a learner, and Mr. Bashir Musisi, the games teacher, the donation is a timely gift that will go a long way in providing learners with opportunities to socialise, build confidence, expand their social networks, and nurture their talents.
Earlier, Scovia Katusabe, the school head teacher, said as school administrators, they will closely monitor learners during all sports activities to prevent misconduct and other negative behavior that could tarnish the reputation of their school.
