The Alumni of Lira Palwo primary school have given mattress, metallic boxes and scholastic materials to six pupils who got first grade in the 2022 primary leaving examinations.

The event that took place today saw the 6 pupils, three of them sat from Lira Palwo primary school, one from Lamiyo primary school, 1 from wanglobo primary school and one from Aculu primary school all in Agago constituency Agago District.

Mr Onying  James Penywii who handed over the gifts to the pupils on behalf of the Alumni said they took the initiative some years back to improve the performance of the school and bring back its lost glory after they saw that for a long time the school was not getting any first grade in the final examination.

Meanwhile E Y Komakech, a senior citizen and former head teacher  while speaking at the event  urged the parents to embrace education since it is the only available resource and warned them to allow the teachers to explore all their talents in training the children sent to school without interfering with their work .

He notes that no teacher comes out of the training college without the knowledge of what they are coming to do at the schools. He also took a swipe on the teachers about being committed to their work citing an example on their teaching days where they use to commit to work and their pupils were at some point the best in the all country.
