The Anglican Church under Kitgum diocese plans to open saving groups in all the churches under the diocese by the end of 2024.

Rev. Ochola Martin Caesar in an interview with our reporter during the launch of saving church group in Pader Town Council revealed that they are planning for all the 550 chapels in the diocese to have a saving group to help in developing the church and sustaining themselves.

According to Rev. Caesar, they have so far trained at least 20 saving church facilitators in good saving and financial management.

The three-day training of the church facilitators attracted church leaders and members from Pader Kilak, Kilak Coner, Pader town for Pader archdeaconry while those who represented Patongo archdeaconry came from Kwon kic, and Lamiyo chapel among other areas.

Rev. Irene Lamunu the field coordinator for Pader  in her communication said this saving group is unique because they put God first with principles of honesty, good leadership and fellowship highly regarded.

She tasked all the trained saving church facilitators to impart the knowledge they have learned to other church members.

Rev. Lamunu also asked the trainees to go back and open saving group in their church.

Meanwhile Aciro Grace from Pader Kilak Chapel expressed gratitude for the training and vow to use the new knowledge they have got to start a good saving group with God as the bedrock since that is what they have been missing in other saving groups.
