Pearl Bank Uganda has donated water tanks and assorted food items to the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) to support students observing the fasting period of Ramadan and to mark International Women’s Day.

The donation delivered on Friday in Mbale included two 10,000-litre water tanks and a variety of food items aimed at helping students during the fasting season and in preparation for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

The items were handed over to the university’s Daawa Liaison Community Outreach programme to support students staying at the Summayyah and Abu-Mayanja hostels.

The Rector of IUIU Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda welcomed the donation and described it as timely support that will greatly benefit the university community during the fasting period.
