Religious leaders have urged Christians to return to unity and break free from the bondage of sins during this Easter season.

The clerics say that the trouble people face today is that they have too many barriers perpetrated by sins that stand between man and God, parents and children, husband and family.

They argue that the wall has been created by hatred, division, oppression, and separation noting that the world can only break through this by forgiveness, loving one another, and returning to unity and solidarity.

Reading a joint Easter message from Cathedral Church in Gulu City on Good Friday, Anglican Diocesan Bishop of the Northern Diocese, Godfry Loum says Christians should use this Easter period to be a time to tear down walls between mankind and God, neighbors, stop hatred and forgive one another in God`s mercy.

The clerics read out the message shortly after observing the public joint way of the cross which started at St Basil Orthodox Church in Layibi Techo passed through Gulu City streets and ended at Gulu Cathedral Catholic Church.

Gulu City Woman MP, Betty Aol Ocan asked Christians to help the needy during this period.

Translated as …(”we ought to have love more than ever at the two remaining days that usher us to the day Jesus resurrected. We should help the needy around us like the poor, the sick, those in prison and the orphan homes like St. Jude and other orphan homes. Lets visit, pray and support them in any way possible.)

The way of the cross which was acted by Christians from the different religious denominations depicted Jesus` journey, suffering, and resurrection.
