President Yoweri Museveni has launched his presidential campaign in the Acholi sub-region, unveiling a targeted compensation plan for communities affected by past insurgencies.
Speaking yesterday, 20 October 2025, at a rally held at Pabo Primary School playground in Amuru District, Museveni announced a special cattle compensation initiative, pledging five cows per household in war-affected areas across Acholi, Lango, and Teso. The plan, requested by local leaders, aims to promote wealth creation and will be implemented during his next term.
Museveni also announced plans to recruit 1,400 health inspectors to curb drug theft in public hospitals. Addressing supporters at Pabo Primary School, he stated that the inspectors, with support from religious leaders, would ensure the proper use of medicines in government facilities.
The President further warned school administrators against charging illegal fees, urging the full implementation of the Universal Primary and Secondary Education programmes.
Museveni stated that the government has done its part and that it is now time for public servants to deliver.
Today, 21 October 2025, the President will visit Anaka P7 School playground in Anaka Town Council, Nwoya District, followed by Opit Primary School playground in Omoro District. On 22 October 2025, he will proceed to Kaunda Grounds in Gulu.
