Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) presidential candidate, General Mugisha Muntu, has pledged to clean up government within his first 100 days in office promising to restore integrity, accountability, and public trust in Uganda’s leadership.
Speaking at a press conference at the Northern Uganda Media Association on Thursday morning of 6 November 2025, Gen. Muntu said his administration would focus on ethical governance, transparency, and professionalism in public service.
He revealed that his first priority would be to assemble a team of competent men and women with proven records of integrity committed to fairness, justice, and putting national interest above personal gain.
Muntu identified corruption as one of the biggest barriers to Uganda’s progress, saying it has crippled service delivery and undermined public confidence in state institutions. He vowed to tackle it through tough enforcement measures, including lifestyle audits, recovery of stolen public funds, and the arrest and prosecution of corrupt officials regardless of their political affiliation.
The ANT flag bearer said his first 100 days would also focus on strengthening anti-corruption agencies, digitising government procurement systems, and enhancing whistleblower protections. According to Muntu, these reforms will usher in a new era of efficiency and ethical governance.

During the same event, Gen. Muntu called on residents of Bar-dege Layibi Division to support Robert Mugabe, the ANT parliamentary flag bearer, in the upcoming elections. He said Uganda needs a new generation of leaders guided by honesty and service to the people.
Muntu emphasised that his campaign is centered on building strong institutions rather than personality politics, arguing that lasting change will only come from accountable systems.

He expressed optimism that Ugandans are ready to embrace a new political culture rooted in truth and hard work.
General Muntu will face off with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of the NRM, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu of the NUP, Nandala Mafabi James Nathan of the FDC, Joseph Mabirizi of the Conservative Party, Nobert Kasibante of the National Peasants Party, Mubarak Munyangwa Sserunga of the Common Man’s Party, and Bulira Kabinga of the Revolutionary People’s Party in the upcoming presidential race.
