Gulu University Chancellor Dr Ruhakana Rugunda has congratulated the institution’s 21st cohort of graduates, urging them to use their academic achievements to create jobs and contribute to national development.
Speaking at the university’s main football ground, Dr Rugunda praised the milestone as the result of teamwork among students, staff, management, and families.
He noted that all 1,431 graduates will receive their transcripts and certificates today, a first for the university.
Academic Registrar Dr Jerry Bagaria stated that this year’s class includes five PhD graduates, 13 students with disabilities, and 11 international students. A total of 54 students have earned first-class honours.

Chief Guest Robina Nabanja encouraged the graduates to embrace positive lifestyles.
Justice Minister Norbert Mao pledged to follow up on the promised specialist hospital and urged graduates to avoid reckless behaviour.
