Residents in Gulu City are welcoming much-needed healthcare relief as the Safari Uganda Baati Foundation rolls out its first free medical camp.

The two-day outreach, which began on 4 December 2025, is offering diagnostics, laboratory tests, and medication at no cost — a service many say they rarely access due to high medical expenses.

Doctors report a strong turnout, particularly from women seeking treatment for malaria, infections, and other common illnesses.

One beneficiary, Charles Apat, says the camp is a lifeline for people who struggle to buy medicine from regular health facilities.

Foundation Manager George Mubiru says the goal is to reach at least 1,000 residents and strengthen community health ahead of the upcoming Gulu City Marathon.

The initiative is being delivered in partnership with the city’s health department and local health facilities. For many residents, it is a timely boost that brings essential care closer to home.
