Soldier cited in Amolatar land wrangle

Obonyo wonders why Col.Ongia who is a serving Army officer also Operation wealth creation coordinator is still playing hide and seek to transfer the land title to Salva ministry limited yet they completed the procurement process legally.

Community members of Bangala parish, Namasale Sub County in Amolatar district have asked Col. Dr. Ongia Francis to transfer land title to the Salva ministry limited so that construction of school continues.

In the meeting that was organized by the area local council two of Bangala parish   on 20th.May.2024 at Alwala village Bangala parish Namasale sub county Amolatar district community asked col.Ongia to transfer the land to Salva ministry limited who bought Eight hectors of land from them to construction school and hospital for the orphan and widows in Bangala parish Amolatar district.

According to the area Lc2 chairperson Obonyo Richard , in 2022 they ‘received information from one Grace who assured them that through Bishop Ibrahim Okello they can get help from whites to help the orphans and widows praying at miracle centre Bangala.

Obonyo added that indeed through Bishop Tom Ibrahim Okello a white man from Australia by the name Peter under Salva ministry limited visited the community, did an assessment and bought eight hectors of land from Col.Ongia Francis for the construction schools and hospital for the orphans and widows in Bangala parish.

Bishop Tom Ibrahim Okello asserts that the construction at the site has stalled due to lack of the said title, “work at the site can resume if the title is obtained” says Okello

He added that Salva ministry that comprises of Him the Bishop, foreigner and two other people are the sole directors of the school.

He added that Peter the sponsor of this project declined to send further funds with having the land title where the project stands.

 He however appealed to Col.Ongia to transfer the land title to them so that construction continues.

Bishop Remains baffled on Col Ongia’s action yet the project in question would benefit thousands of orphans, widows and the needy in his very own area of jurisdiction.

Local council three Namasale sub county chairperson Rembo Ongu said whoever has hands in trying to divert the project God will punish them.

However Col.Ongia bowed to the pressure by the community and asked them to give him three days as he consults his lawyer over the case he had filled against Salva ministry limited on trespass

He also added that his lawyer will help also determine if he can transfer land to Salva ministry limited after three days.

Col.Ongia also confirms selling eight hectares of land to Salva ministry at a tune of 40 million Uganda shillings for the construction of schools and hospital for orphans and widows.

The OC police Amolatar central police station Ssp Massette Kenneth appealed to Col.Ongia to withdraw the case he took to court and solve the issue amicably.

Massette also urged the people of Amolatar to embrace activities geared towards development other than playing cheap politics that divide people.
