On Sunday, March 2, 2025, during a heartfelt address at the St. Cornelius Eucharistic Center in Amolatar Parish, Chairperson Laity Otile Vincent delivered a powerful message urging christians to refrain from engaging in unnecessary sexual activities that could heighten their risk of contracting HIV/AIDS.

His call to action resonated deeply with congregation members, highlighting the urgent need for behavioral change in the community.

Otile emphasised the grim reality of the current vaccine shortage, attributing it to funding freezes from key supporters like the United States and Italy. “We must understand that while we may hope for solutions, the reality is stark resources for combating HIV/AIDS are diminishing,” he warned, urging his audience to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding their health.

He specifically addressed misconceptions surrounding the transmission of the virus, stating, “Some believe that HIV/AIDS is only a threat at night, but this is absolutely false. We must encourage fidelity and responsible behavior at all times.” His words served as a reminder of the crucial role education plays in dispelling myths and fostering a safer community.

In a poignant moment, Otile called upon parents of teenage mothers to step up and assist their children in taking on the responsibilities of parenthood. He highlighted the alarming prevalence of teenage motherhood in Nalubwoyo subcounty and Amolatar town council, where the rates stand at 56% and 36%, respectively. “As a community, we must support these young mothers, guiding them and providing them with the resources they need to succeed,” he stated.
