Amolatar district receives MAIIF Vehicle to boost climate smart agricultural project

The Amolatar District Department of Production officially received a vehicle from MAIIF on Monday, July 6, 2026, as part of the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project. During the handover ceremony, Assistant RDC Sarah Tyan praised MAIIF for its significant support in monitoring the climate-smart project.

Meanwhile, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Amolatar, Ms. Rhoda Oroma, raised concerns with the mechanical officer about the frequent breakdowns of district vehicles.

She pledged to investigate the matter to ensure the officer responsible is competent and capable.

She also promised to safeguard the new vehicle provided to the production department to guarantee its effective use and proper maintenance.

The District Chairperson of Amolatar, Hon. Ogwal Moris, expressed confidence that the new vehicle would significantly aid the department in promoting the climate-smart agricultural transformation project.

Francis Ojok, also known as Abu Joker, the Production Officer, expressed gratitude to MAIIF for their continued support and noted that motorcycles are expected to arrive soon to further aid project monitoring.

He also shared that the production department has faced challenges in mobility for a long time, but with the new vehicle, monitoring efforts will be greatly enhanced.

Additionally, Mr. Dulson Okello, the focal point person for the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project in Amolatar and acting principal entomologist, mentioned that the vehicle is equipped with a tracking device designed to monitor its intended use.

To date, four farmers’ groups have benefited from the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project in Amolatar, with a total of 173 groups already registered under the initiative, signaling growing momentum toward sustainable agriculture in the region.
