Two Motorcycles commissioned in Amolatar to boost agricultural service delivery

Amolatar District’s production department has taken a significant step to enhance agricultural extension services by commissioning two new motorcycles valued at 24 million Ugandan Shillings. The handover ceremony took place on Tuesday, 21st July 2026, under the leadership of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and the Resident District Commissioner (RDC).

Francis Ojok, the District Production Officer, explained that the procurement of these motorcycles was a strategic response to the transport challenges faced by extension workers.

“These motorcycles will greatly improve mobility and allow our staff to reach remote farming communities more effectively,” Ojok stated.

However, he was quick to caution against any misuse of government property. “It is crucial that these assets are used exclusively to support our farmers and not diverted for other purposes,” he warned firmly.

Deputy CAO Geoffrey Vuciri praised the production department for this progressive move. He underscored the importance of diligent management and maintenance of the motorcycles to ensure their longevity and reliability in serving the district’s agricultural needs.

District Vice Chairperson (LCV), Margaret Olul, urged the beneficiaries to leverage the improved transport for active agricultural training. “Your role is pivotal in teaching modern agronomic practices and bridging gaps in service delivery to our farmers,” she emphasized during the event.

Additionally, Deputy RDC Obonyo Magwar called on other district sectors to emulate the production department’s initiative. He remarked that equipping field officers with essential mobility tools is a foundational step toward achieving overarching district development goals and enhancing community welfare.
