This high-performance official vehicle, registered under government plate UG 0101267, was provided directly on the directive of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to support the corporation’s key industrial projects.

The newly allocated Land Cruiser 76, renowned for its powerful 4.2L diesel engine and durable 4×4 manual capabilities, is expected to significantly enhance logistics and mobility for Col. Ongia as he oversees state-backed industrialization initiatives across Uganda.

The reliable performance of this vehicle is essential for navigating challenging rural terrains where many UDC regional factory infrastructures are located, enabling timely inspections, monitoring, and coordination.

Upon receiving the vehicle, Col. Ongia, a retired military commander turned dedicated public administrator, expressed his heartfelt appreciation: “My dear brothers and sisters, bigger responsibilities demand better mobility, and the two are perfectly compatible. I receive this new vehicle with profound gratitude and humility, as an important enabler in the execution of the greater responsibilities entrusted to me.”

The UDC, as the government’s primary investment arm, plays a pivotal role in promoting industrial development, agro-manufacturing, and regional value addition across Uganda, thus contributing to national economic growth and job creation.

Concluding his remarks, Col. Ongia offered a spiritual dedication of the gift, underscoring his commitment to public service: “Glory, honour and praise be to God Almighty for this wonderful blessing of a new vehicle. May He grant me wisdom, protection and strength to use it in service, productivity and the fulfilment of the responsibilities ahead.

To God be all the glory.”This development marks a vital step forward in supporting Uganda’s ambitious industrialization agenda, with improved mobility poised to enhance the effectiveness and reach of UDC’s transformative projects nationwide.
